Teaching Hours

Duration of the course – 2 years

The course will be in three modules and clinical based training.

Year one (Module 1, 2, 3 & Protocol Submission)

The course covers basic concept of biomolecules, enzymology and general metabolism, biochemical aspects of diseases and molecular biology. In parallel, laboratory training for biochemical technique will be performed.

During this course, the trainee must take seminars, written assignments and also has to

       submit a research protocol.

Year two (Clinical based-training, Research & Thesis Submission)

This part of the course will cover the Clinical Biochemistry-Part II which will focus on hospital based training that includes discussion on cases and laboratory data and its interpretation.  The trainee would be able to submit a thesis to Postgraduate Board of Study during this period.

The trainee will be defined as a degree holder if he or she successfully defend the thesis and completed all four modules in accordance with defined criteria. After completion of four modules, a trainee would be allowed to take a short course training abroad (not more than 3 months), if it is necessary for his or her research.
