Summative assessment at the end of first year

     Types of question – Essay type, theory paper only
     Number of questions
        Histopathology – 4 out of 5 questions
        Haematology–No (1) is compulsory & 3 out of the remaining 4
        questions
        Chemical pathology – 4 out of 5 questions
        Microbiology – 4 out of 5 questions
        Total time allowed – 3 hours for each paper
    Pass marks                   60
    Distinction marks        80
    Credit marks               75 in all components
    *MP                            58 – only in one component of one subject
                                       (theory or practical or viva)
    *compartmental privilege    must pass in two subjects out of   (4)
    *F system            2 F
 Supplementary        3 monthly
    If a candidate is not successful in the examination, he/she can have two more attempts within a year during attending second year.

    It must be submitted 3 months before the final examination.
    The degree of M.Med.Sc (Pathology) will be conferred to a candidate who has passed the final examination and whose dissertation has been accepted as satisfactory by the board.
Supplementary            6 monthly
    If a candidate is not successful in the final examination, he/she can have two more attempts within two years.

     10 hematological slides interpretation ( Both peripheral blood and Bone marrow )

     Grouping and cross matching
     10 hematological slides interpretation (Both peripheral blood ,Bone marrow, flow cytometry )

     Tests for coagulation studies ( PT, APTT, etc.)
     10 hematological slides interpretation ( Both peripheral blood,Bone marro, flow cytometry )
•    Viva Voce

     B. Thesis – 100%  

Pass marks- 60% in both A and B
